Protecting customer information is one of the most important things that an online business has to ensure. Afterall, if your customers dont trust you, then they wont be your customers for long.

Recently there has been a spate of companies that have managed to loose customer information, from governments to building societies and banks. These companies failed to put into place the basic protocols to ensure that information that is private, remains that way.

eTrust recently launched a privacy certification that was intended to enforce this, its not suprising that most of these companies arent certified by eTrust, but instead have the absolutely useless TrustE certification.

TJ Maxx announced today that over 45 million customers have had their credit card and personal information stolen after the company's servers were hacked.

The sheer scale of the breach is astounding, as is the fact that TJ Maxx have no idea of when the breach occured.

This is just another example of the fact that companys have not adapted their policies to ensure that customer data is properly protected. TJ Maxx should be fined, and forced to ensure their customers are tracked via services such as Experian to ensure that they are not the victims of fraud.

Dell to swtich to AMD? : Allied Journal in what would be a major loss for Intel, Dell are considering switching to AMD.
This is an amazing turn around in fortunes for AMD, which was almost dead a year or so ago, and for Intel it would signal the fall from grace so many have forseen.

A news article on Lexdon suggestions that GlaxoSmithkline will be outsourcing large amounts of its server operations to ACS. The deal is worth about $100 million! What it doesnt mention is all those who are going to loose their jobs.
